Diagnostics fulfills an important function for manufacturing processes where you need to ensure that you have produced what the customer ordered in all respects and that you have done it in a safe and efficient manner.
A “bill of material” for a product with built-in software typically contains a large amount of order-specific software and hardware components. The factory creates unique settings (calibrations) that follow and define the product throughout its life cycle. A good example of a production-related assignment is the development of PROSIT for AB Volvo; the system is used in more than sixty factories worldwide.
Manufacturing process
Diadrom have been involved in the order to delivery process at AB Volvo since 2007.
The manufacturing process tool handles the electrical architecture in production as a part of the assembly process, and the the tool is used to program, check, test and calibrate ECUs.
Furthermore, the tool communicates with the connected ECUs either via the diagnostic connector or an adapter and communicates with separate ECUs (not yet mounted) via a fixture or an adapter.
